Great New York style pizza, crispy crust, sauce with a ton of flavor, and enough cheese to hold it all together. The menu is loaded with lots of Italian goodies, but the pizza is some of best you will find.
For three years now, we stop by Sal's on our trips to the beach for a great bite. My wife and I wanted to stop eating at the fast food chains on our road trips . And we stumbled into Sal's one day. All I can tell you the food is AMAZING from the salads, Yummy pizzas, the pastas, the linguine....Everything we have tried is absolutely amazing, fresh and tasty. And the portions are very generous. Sal is awesome. He always greets us and he is so welcoming and generous. He always brings us a taste of what he is preparing in the kitchen. What a jolly guy. The prices are moderate. I would recommend this to everyone to try. Especially if you are tired of the fast food on your road trips. This place is a gem for beachgoers. And the locals we spoke with love it. I am glad I finally wrote this review. I have been meaning to do for a couple of years.
Stopped by on our way from the beach and saw some great yelp reviews! The restaurant is small for seating but clean and the staff are really friendly. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pie with the garlic knot rolls appetizer. First, the garlic rolls were off the chart good. Crunchy roasted garlic on the outside of this knot roll and a nice outer crust. Inside oh so yummy soft garlic buttery strands in the crease of the rolls. It's served with marinara sauce that is perfectly balanced not too acidic and not sweet. Our pizza pie was large, a good sized portion and sausage tasted homemade. The crust was chewy and hot and held up while eating. Flat like a NY style pie, this was excellent. Sauce was really good. I will go back and try some other pies and for the garlic knots, especially, cause you won't forget them! They have lots of other menu items as well. Now that I have their take out menu, I will be ordering on my way through town. Oh and don't forget to get the garlic knot rolls !!!!
This is a great little pizza place. We stopped here on the drive home from the beach. Really good pizza. I was a little worried if the reviews were genuine. We came by in the off season but still the place was great. I would highly recommend the pizza here.
I ate way more than I should have. This stripmall pizza place is a regular stop for us when headed to the beach. We found it by chance--before my days of Yelp--and stopped because we were hungry. The inside is small but quaint. The restrooms were clean. Pizzas, strombolis, and other foods are displayed by the counter for customers who are just dropping in for a slice. We sat at a booth in the dining room. Our server was pleasant and efficient, especially considering she was the only server and the place started getting crowded. The cream of crab soup was delicious. Smooth, flavorful, but spicy. Full of delectable hunks of crab meat. The house salad was fresh. I recommend the house dressing. The salad is served with a large hunk of garlic bread. My 9-year-old got the classic burger, which turned out to be a huge double-patty meal. It was juicy and tender, and served in a basket with fries. Too much for a kid, but my partner and I helped finish it off. But the pizza. Oh the pizza. The crust is thin and crispy, though not as thin as a standard thin crust. The sauce is perfectly seasoned and not excessively sweet, which is my #1 complaint about places like Papa Johns. And the cheese is absolute perfection. There 's just something about the combination of herbs and spices that is like pizza perfection. I ate way more than I should have, but I have no regrets.
