It took just a few minutes to get a drink, and I ordered two Tito's with water. I must say, the drinks were quite strong—feeling like 75% vodka! They were around $8 each, and there was a $5 cover charge for entry, though I’m not sure why since there was no live band. The large dance floor was packed with people, making it a bit tricky to reach the bathroom in the back. We ended up cleaning off a table ourselves so we could sit down. Overall, if you’re in the mood for strong drinks and a place to dance, this spot would be a great choice.
**Music:** On my first visit, the music was anything but country; it was primarily ‘90s pop—Backstreet Boys, anyone? This seemed odd for a place called Cowboy Lounge. Fast forward to my return a few weeks later, and the music was exclusively country. While I personally enjoyed it, my friends were not impressed. What did they expect? **Drinks:** The bartenders were friendly and attentive, which is a plus. However, like many downtown venues, the drinks felt a bit overpriced. For example, paying $7 for any Jameson is a bit much, if you ask me. But I suppose that’s just part of the downtown experience. **Crowd:** The crowd was a mixed bag. During my first visit, the place was packed, and everyone was dancing and having a great time. On my recent visit, however, it was quite empty, and the few patrons seemed uninterested in dancing. It was a strange contrast. Overall, Cowboy Lounge wasn't a bad choice for either bachelorette party, but it definitely has its better nights.
Had a lot of fun here on a Saturday night during the Labor Day weekend. We kind of stumbled in here with the name of the place mixed with the fact that Tavern had a huge line we didn't feel like standing in. What a fun time! Music was great, people were also fun and drinks were easy to come by. Would love to stop in here again next time I'm in town.
It felt more like a hip hop lounge than a country venue. I suppose this is where the country scene has ended up. Plus, why bother having a coat check sign if it’s never open? And no Coors beer? I guess it’s just too far from the brewery!
Have enjoyed coming here for years. However, tonight I have never felt more disrespected by an establishment and on my BIRTHDAY no less!!! Thursday nights are lady 's night (which i did not know, and was informed of by my younger sister). Service took so long we decided to order two drinks at a time. We were accused by the bartender of sharing with men in our group. One being my husband who was our DD and the other being a friend who had a receipt of his purchase for his drink. The blonde, rude bartender on her power trip came over ... dumped out our drinks saying, I know the kinda people you are! I 'm dumping these! At this point we have four bouncers and a manager in our face asking what 's going on. We told her it was only the two of us drinking, and her employee took it too far! Of course the manager stuck with her employee and kicked us out.
