Dead Battery Club - Denver

In search of a late lunch and air conditioning I landed here. Between a great drink and the sliders this was simply heavenly. The amount of food was perfect and the service was attentive. I was only in town for one night, but I hope to return again just for another taste of those sliders.

We also shared a trio of stuffed buns (jamon manchego, spinach/artichoke/chèvre, and smoked brisket) for $12, along with the special King Crab bun. The jamon bun was perfectly cooked with vibrant flavors, though the spinach option could have benefited from a bit more intensity from the chèvre. The smoked brisket was very tasty, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the king crab bun. At $12, it’s a bit pricey, but given that king crab isn’t inexpensive, it was worth every penny—it tasted just like a lobster roll from Maine. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I’ll certainly be returning!

We ordered a fruit plate, but it was unavailable, so we opted for the cheese board instead. Wow! It was huge! For the typical $15 price, you get an incredible variety of delicious cheeses and crackers—there was more than we could finish. The dining area is small, but the staff is fantastic and the portions are excellent. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Outstanding! The interior is trendy yet cozy. The staff was friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. We started with a plate of their signature buns, all of which were excellent and perfect for sharing while enjoying a cocktail. The tuna layer dip was also delicious—tangy andrich. The cocktails were well-crafted and reasonably priced. The negroni was wonderful, and the manhattan made with well liquor was decent (my fault for not specifying the spirit). Whether for drinks, food, or both, Dead Battery is a superb choice.

We dropped in one afternoon for drinks and to try the buns (we kept hearing so much about! and were not disappointed. I had the mixed drink with hibiscus and it was amazing. We tried one of each of the buns and loved them all. Definitely a spot to check out in Denver, either as a Denverite or just passing through the city.
