The jalapeño rockets were obviously hand made, and the pizza was the perfect amount of crispy and greasy. We will definitely be back. Feels like a nice family-owned place. Pretty quiet for a Saturday night, which is honestly kind of nice.
Service was Great 1st of all. The food was rather disappointing though. We got there about 8 ordered a Santa Claus-mopolitan and a Christmas mule. The drinks were decent. The atmosphere was quite cozy, warm, and inviting. We got the triple play appetizer with the wings sausage jalapenos and mozzarella sticks. I was disappointed in the size of the appetizer fairly small for the price. We also ordered a 4340 calzone to share. It came out with so much grease on the plate that we used to napkins to slop it all up. It was supposed to be filled with pepperoni sausage mushroom onion green pepper and black olives. Heavy on the cheese pepperoni and sausage but wear skimpy on the veggies. The marinara sauce was good though. Our bill came to $43 for two drinks and appetizer and a shared dinner which isn't bad. What was not impressed with the Sysco food product calzone.
Just ordered delivery from door dash. Good sauce and cheese but crust was totally burned could only eat the middle. Disappointed.
Bottom line: If you don 't care about the customer service experience, go here because the pizza is good. However, if you value a good experience with your food, go somewhere else. The long version: This was our first time going to The New York Pizza Pub, and we won 't be going back. First, this review is SOLELY regarding their customer service. I ordered delivery last Sunday and the pizza was great but the customer service was poor. If I could rate them based on pizza, I 'd give it a 4.5. But their customer service, I 'd rate a 1. And for me personally, the customer service EXPERIENCE is just as important as the food. I rarely leave reviews, so for me to take the time to leave a review lets you know how sub-standard the experience was. After they delivered my pizza, I noticed they made a mistake on my order. Not a big mistake, but I asked for something on the side and they didn 't bring it. It wasn 't one of those under your breath requests. I clearly made the request, and while ordering, I made sure to pause before I asked to make sure she heard me. And, my girl friend confirmed that, from the other room, she heard me make the request. This was a simple enough fix that anyone with a little presence to customer service could have smoothed over, but it was handled very poorly, and with unnecessary attitude, by the women I spoke to on the phone. If you 've ever made a purchase from a business and you got the vibe that you were bothering them, that 's what I felt like when I called back. I wasn 't rude either, I was friendly because I 'm a friendly person. So, under the attitude, she said she would send the driver back to fix the problem. A few minutes later the manager called me back and essentially said What you asked for wasn 't on the ticket, and I can 't send a driver back for that, we 're just too busy. (BTW, the women said the same thing about it not being on the ticket, which, is not my fault). As a customer, here 's my problem with that (and I explained this over the phone but he didn 't get it, hence I now have to go online and share it here): It 's not my job as the customer to fill out a ticket. My job is to order food, pay, and be nice, which I was. Your job as the business is to write it down and deliver. So to tell a customer that It wasn 't written down, therefore it 's my fault, is pretty silly. No one likes making mistakes, but we all make mistakes. However, as a business, when you make excuses, argue, and give attitude to your customers over your own error, what it makes me feel like is that you don 't value my business. You have More important things to do than take care of those who keep your doors open. So if you don 't value my business and you cut corners on your customer 's experience, where else do you cut corners? I 'll take it somewhere else. What also played into my frustration with the way they handled their mistake (which again, it was the way they handled it that I 'm leaving this review) was that I pre tipped 30%! When the manager said he isn 't sending a driver back to fix the problem, AND didn 't offer any other solution, I told him that I wanted to adjust the 30% tip to 15%. Now the sad part about that is that the ONLY person who was friendly and had good customer service was the DELIVERY GUY. Yet, instead of offering a creative solution or even a Man, I 'm so sorry about this, here 's what we can do..... the manager allowed the delivery guy to lose half of his tip. If the owner or manger is reading this, you really should take 15% of my tip out of the store 's bank and give it back to the driver because it wasn 't his fault that he lost out on a nice tip. So to the delivery guy: I 'm sorry about that. You deserve a raise. To the store: If you want to make this right, feel free to reach back out. You have my contact info and I 'd be happy to take this review down or update it if I felt like you actually cared about your customers. This took place 7/5/20.
Not Impressed. When I got there the place was completely empty at 6:30pm on a Sunday, which is never a good sign. The pizza was Luke warm which I thought was odd considering I had to wait there for 10 additional minutes after I arrived. Sauce tasted store bought and crust was spongy and flavorless.... Still on the hunt for my NY style pizza.. Two stars because the staff was friendly.
