Tony P's Bar & Pizzeria - Uptown

The atmosphere was good, the noise level was ok, the food was missing. The service was very good, nice waiters and reception! The sweetness of the sauces in our Mexican food was very different and not good! Even the salsa for the fries was more like spaghetti. How do you mess up something simple like salsa? We think the worst was the enchilada sauce, sweet sauce, cinnamon doesn't go with enchiladas, I don't care if it's California, it doesn't taste good, sorry !!!!!!

I love this place! Your salsa is excellent and the mole is wonderful too. I eat here every time I am in Laguna Beach.

The salsa at this restaurant is amazing! The service is great and the atmosphere is fun. However, they could use better chefs who can cook in more than one style and avoid overcooking the meat. All of the dishes taste very similar, with burnt marks on the meat and similar spices. Everything is well done, almost to the point of being burnt. It feels like everything is cooked to a fajitas-like cremation. This is the second time I've been here and had the same experience. I might come back for a drink because the atmosphere is enjoyable, but they definitely need better chefs.
