Toro Latin Kitchen Lounge - Denver

This restaurant is fantastic! It's located in the Clio hotel, which made me a bit hesitant since hotel restaurants can be unpredictable, but this one exceeded all my expectations. The staff is wonderful, and our server Steven was exceptional! The food is remarkable, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit of spice. The drinks are also delightful—be sure to try the Mercado Margarita, it's a must! The prices are very reasonable too. I returned for breakfast the next morning, and it was just as impressive. They even had live music during brunch. This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Cherry Creek!

Overall, we had a good experience. However, it would have been helpful if the food runners had clearly indicated which dishes were vegetarian or pescatarian, especially since we informed the waiter about some guests' dietary restrictions.

I was a bit disappointed, though, because the fresh fruit bowl we were served didn’t include any mango or bee pollen as mentioned on the menu; it was just a plain bowl of fruit. I'm relieved I didn’t order the fruit à la carte, as that would have felt like a rip-off. Despite that hiccup, I highly recommend this brunch to my friends because I really enjoy the food!

Great food, but subpar service! We had to ask for silverware more than once, request clean silverware and our side dishes came out much earlier than our main entrees. Not the worst issues ever, but the details matter, especially at a pricier restaurant! Would have to think about it before we'd go back as there are so many options from which to choose....

My dining partner and I ordered an appetizer which was delicious. We both ordered the quinona (SP) salad. The server returned to tell my friend that the salad contained shallots which could not be separated from the dish. My friend ordered the kale salad which was very large. My salad was a more manageable size. However, I took home leftover salad and ate it on Friday. Even though the servers were very busy, they were very attentive and friendly without hovering . I have eaten at Toro previously and found the service to be at the same good level. A nice event for folks who don 't love turkey.
