Clarion Inn Surfrider Resort

Surfrider is a hotel we have visited over the years. they have made some upgrades, but the cleanliness of the room has gone down. it doesn't seem that they are mowing and tending to ding, as much as they used to. the firefighter house was gone, the training room and the playroom were closed. the small details were not inclined. the restaurant quality and taste were not so good. the staff was friendly and the location is wonderful as always. many small problems and great prices for what we have. we give him another chance to improve as we love this location, but think twice when they expect something nice at the moment.

The room had an old, musty smell, with hair strewn across the floor and in the bathroom. The baseboards were dusty, and the bathroom fan desperately needed cleaning—there was so much lint and dust in it. Additionally, there was visible rust on many metal fixtures, and the sink and toilet were only suitable for people 5 feet tall or shorter. The beds were propped up on untreated plywood without a proper bed frame. I regret not noticing the absence of air conditioning—it was quite muggy. On the bright side, our room had a lovely view of the beach, but the deck was dubious and really needs replacing. The pool appeared large and luxurious in the online photos, but in reality, it was a small, cramped pool situated in a greenhouse-like enclosure. The positives? The staff was friendly, there was beach access from the hotel, and the view from the room was nice. Unfortunately, that’s about it. I ended up spending over $600 for a two-night stay in a room with two queen beds. This place is truly a $99-a-night hotel. Not only did I feel deceived by the photos, but I also felt ripped off.

The fireplace in our room was taped off with a note indicating that it wasn't part of our accommodations, which wasn’t a concern since it was summer and we didn’t need it. One downside was the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, making them feel quite muggy. Considering the price we paid for two nights in a queen room, I felt it wasn’t worth it, especially since it was the height of summer and prices tend to be higher during this season.

The room was very nice and clean, and we had a stunning ocean view, along with a jet tub. The staff were incredibly friendly. Although the pool was closed during our stay, the front desk offered us a complimentary drink to make up for it. It was also great that the hotel allows guests to borrow movies and games for free.

We always love staying at the Surf Rider! It is clean , has amazing view in every room I have stayed in. Easy to check in and out. Beach access to Fogerty beach and free movies! My kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub! I will stay again!
