Darley Abbey Wines - Derby

Nice wine, with a nice atmosphere! Would definitely recommend and come back again if I was in Derby.

The waitresses at this restaurant were extremely rude and unapproachable, especially the short, dark-haired lady with a fringe and clip in her hair. She told us to move because we were in the way, even though we were placed there by the manager while finishing our paid-for drinks. Her behavior made us feel uncomfortable, prompting us to leave immediately. We will not be coming back and suggest the management reevaluate the staff they hire and their customer service practices.

As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time to take a leisurely stroll to the wine bar, sit outside, and enjoy a few drinks.

Just called in for a few drinks after being hurried out the door of a nearby restaurant. So bearing in mind we were fed up of constantly being reminded that we needed to vacate our dinner table earlier, we were hoping for a more relaxed ambience in this wine bar. What we experienced when we sat down was quite the opposite. We ordered drinks at the bar and was asked if we’d booked a table. We explained that we’d just called in and didn’t realise that you had to book a table for just a drink???? We were shown to a table, but was told we had to vacate it by 8pm. After that, we were constantly barraged with reminders to get out for 8pm. What is wrong with establishments these days??? A terrible experience, topped off by our Brother in Law asking for non alcoholic beer, and realising half way down it that he’d been drinking alcohol!!!! Will never go again.

We visited Darley Abbey Wines for a birthday celebration, as we had been there for the same occasion last year and had a fantastic experience. However, this time was extremely disappointing. The staff seemed inexperienced and were mainly focused on serving a couple who appeared to be senior managers or owners, along with their friends. This was a stark contrast to our visit last year, where the staff were efficient, the venue was clean and well-stocked, and the bar was organized. This year, the service was chaotic, and it felt like the staff were more interested in socializing than attending to customers. It's unfortunate to see such a beautiful venue wasted due to poor management.
