The veggies and pepper sauce was great, the steak was cooked as I ordered, medium / rare, but the cut of meat uses was tough with lots of sinews. Others at my table ordered the Barramundi and all raved how good it was. For $26 for Steak and veg, I expect the cut of steak to be better. The service was good, the outdoor eating area was good. There are not many places to stop for food and drink in The West Kimberleys. So I recommend you stop and eat, just order the Barra.
Stayed at the accommodation provided by Willare Roadhouse. It's like mine site lodging, comfy bed, small bathroom with toilet n shower. Aircon and a beer fridge. Very clean and tidy. I had a family room Queen and single bed. $120/night. My son Darcy works as a Ringer for Yeeda Pastoral, whom own the Roadhouse. They gave it to me half price. Emily the Manager of Roadhouse is an exceptional person doing a unreal job running the Roadhouse. Terrific Chef Rob, cooking great meals. Thoroughly enjoyed everyone's company who worked there. Paul the maintainance bloke put me on live Cherabin for Barra fishing. Rohan, Emily's husband took me fishing, we caught 4 small Barra behind Yeeda cattle yards. Top People there. Jack Burton has a great crew working for him.CheersDicko
We were on our way home and called into the Willare Roadhouse to have a break and something to eat.I have stopped and eaten at the Willare Roadhouse a number of times over the years. The food has always been good in terms of choice and quality and the staff have been friendly. Not today , unhappy , unsmiling and unhelpful. The food was in a word terrible. I ordered a hamburger with the lot. We waited for ages for it to arrive. It arrived with anything but what i ordered. I had digestion for hours afterwards. The service was stiff and unfriendly. When we go through again we will bypass. When you think given its location this roadhouse could be a beacon if it offered people good quality meals and good service.
I think this was one of my best roadhouse feeds on a recent loop round the country on a motorcycle. They sell a wide range of local beef from Yeeda station.
The Willare Bridge Roadhouse is the only fuel stop between Broome & Derby. If you are not going into Derby it will be the last fuel stop you will find before turning east towards Fitzroy Crossing. The road house is typical for this area of the Kimberley & does not just sell fuel but you can have a beer, (no take away though) buy any groceries that you forgot to get in Broome, or even camp there.
