Our lunch was well cooked and presented, we thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful position in a lovely village highly recommend a visit. Good luck to the new owners.
We stayed just one night (SATURDAY) Took our two dogs Macy Marley both golden retrievers We were greeted when we arrived and made very welcome. The room was down Stairs which was perfect for the DOGS doors opened onto a field( The grass needs a good cut) The breakfast was exceptional. Also we were told about walks which you can do from the Bowling Green And the book gives you directions Great Views
14 quid each for corned beef pie and chips ,,,,burnt soggy chips ,gravy granules, cold peas, burnt pastry. Shocking service, this was our regular stop years ago ,,,never again
We were staying in a holiday cottage up the road from here so walked down for Sunday lunch. We booked, needn’t have bothered, the place was virtually empty. My husband fancied Scampi sorry, not available. Ok, any other fish? No, sorry. What about a double portion of the children's fish fingers? Nope! Apparently the fish supplier hadn’t been. Strange for a Sunday at the beginning of half term) The other food was fine, plentiful and tasty I especially enjoyed my spare ribs. Until we got to the dessert the mini chocolate desserts that two of us chose looked and tasted fine from the outside but proved to have mouldy blue) cream right in the centre. Couldn’t have been spotted from the outside but a storage or date control issue? Maybe just a bad batch from the supplier these were not homemade. We weren’t charged for dessert and suffered no ill effects.
No booking but seated without issue. Polite staff. Nice feel to the place. Myself snd my mother both ordered a fish finger sandwich which may sound basic, but I have to say it was amazing. Homemade fish fingers, which were really tasty in beautiful soft ciabatta. I’d definitely return
