All the negative reviews before 2021 do not reflect the new owners of The Plough Inn. They have done a very good job running a successful business. They try to cater for all tastes with local ales and popular euro lagers. (Madri) It has a very friendly atmosphere of locals and tourists. I visit Darley Dale from Northamptonshire every other week and always pay the pub a visit. When ever I have guests at my holiday let I always send them to The Plough Inn. Came here Christmas day and New Years eve and it was very busy. A cosy electric fire in the best room if it's cold and wet outside to get warm next to. Dogs are welcome inside. It is a snug pub so you might be sitting close to other boozers. There is a beer garden which showed the Euro 2020 on a giant TV. With seats at the front if you smoke and the sun is shining. Not yet been here when there is a quiz night. Heard it's good fun. Pizzas on the menu but never tasted one. You can pay cash or card. A few stairs to the cubicle toilets. Large car park. If you stay in Darley Dale for the Peak District this is a very good pub to visit. If people give negative reviews then they are being a little precious. It's not the Ritz nor is it a dive.
What a little gem! It's been redecorated and looks stunning. It's so friendly and an absolute gem in our little village. X
Vistied 'plough Inn ' solely on the fact it was the closest establishment that served food to our current destination. We arrived with a warm welcome. The Bargirl was pleasant and joyful. The owner was a friendly gentleman who 's seems keen to maintain high standards. The food was very good. Especially at the price. If you want good hearty locally sourced food and ales, do not hesitate to visit in your in the Derby area. Shame we 're over 100 miles away.
Arrived at The Plough at 8.50 and was told they had just called last orders. The 4 of us managed to get a drink and then as other people arrived and asked for drinks we managed to get a second round. At half 9 they were turning people away, had all the stools stacked on the tables and had turned the outside lights off. Just before 10 they fetched all the umbrellas in and asked us to drink up and go at bang on 10. Just found the atmosphere unfriendly and like they were only bothered about shutting and getting rid of the customer. They turned away two groups of customers and a third came only to leave when they saw the stools on the tables.
