La Mie - Des Moines

During my trip to Des Moines, I didn't anticipate many vegan choices. While the selection isn't extensive, I thoroughly enjoyed the green quinoa bowl! Just a heads up, it has a bit of a kick, so you might want to skip the hot sauce if you prefer less heat. It was incredibly tasty! The location was a bit tricky to find, as it's situated inside a building connected to the skywalk, but it was definitely worth it. I would definitely eat here again!

The food here is fantastic, and the staff is what truly makes it a great choice for breakfast or lunch. They are incredibly fast and helpful.

This restaurant is incredible! They offer a variety of vegan options, as well as plenty of non-vegan dishes. If you haven't visited yet, head to the Ruan building and take the elevator to the first floor; you'll find the rear entrance right in front of you. The staff is very friendly and service is quick, so you won't have to wait long for your meal. Support this local business that has persevered through the challenges of COVID and help them get back on their feet—all while enjoying some fantastic food!

Breakfast at La Mie was delightful. I ordered the smoked salmon omelet, which came with a side of fruit, while my partner had the turkey club. The smoked salmon omelet was incredible, especially when paired with the toast—it was truly delicious. My partner enjoyed the turkey club as well, calling it great. The restaurant is conveniently located on the same level as the Skywalk.
