Long John Silver's - Des Moines

The staff is friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious and consistently served quickly, always hot and fresh. I highly recommend the fish and shrimp, and the hush puppies are a MUST-TRY!

I used to know several locations in Iowa, but I’m only familiar with the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines spots now. We visited the Des Moines location, and while the lobby was closed, the drive-thru was open. I ordered two pieces of fish, along with hush puppies and fries, and everything was absolutely wonderful!

I visit this location for my LJS fix once a month, and they consistently deliver great service. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the comfort food I come for is always hot and fresh. I've been coming here for five years, and in all that time, they've never once messed up my order—an impressive track record over about 60 visits! They also handled drive-thru service well during the pandemic. My usual order is a plate with a drink, which typically costs between $10 and $12, providing plenty of food for 2 to 3 meals.

I got there 15 min before they closed the lobby. I dinned in but even though they closed the lobby they didn't rush me out. It was very nice.

Was they busy the day I went. Wowser!!! So the kine took forever but the food was fabulous. Friendly workers. Just really busy that day.
