Feedback gevenWe had a rough day at the airport with delays and missing a flight. Tired of the airport and due to another delay plenty of time we grabbed an Uber and had a lovely dinner here. Eric was our server and was fabulous being attentive to our flight time without rushing us. We had an amazing meal but the kindness and local information shared by Eric was the highlight of the meal. We changed gears and got bottle of wine and a room upstairs Alyssa was amazing at accommodating a last minute reservation. The restaurant and Hotel Fort Des Moines have turned a bummer air travel day into an amazing Midwest experience!
The rabbit meatballs were delicious but the entree white Alaskan halibut was alright tender, and not that flavorful including the sauce. The potatoes and peas were better and well seasoned.
This was a surprise find at the last minute. Visiting Des Moines for the first time, and Open Table gave the restaurant a 4.6/5 scale. The halibut was drag and well seasoned, the grilled octopus with sticky rice was a wonderful appetizer, and Gretchen, the waiter, was friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance of the restaurant is classic and modern. Highly recommended.
Kara was our server and an absolute delight. We had a family outing for my sister’s birthday, and Kara was the cherry on top to the whole experience. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was perfect. I will be revisiting, and recommending, Proudfoot Bird for special occasions in both my personal and professional life due to the experience I had tonight. Thank you everyone there for making my sister’s birthday a great one.
The food was absolutely delectable and Gretchen our server was top notch! You are definitely lucky to have her on staff. She was so welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu and so so funny. She may have been the best part of dining there!
