I'm just talking about her when I write that, watering my mouth. Don't you like that? No problem! The tacos are also fantastic. Don't you like tacos? I don't believe you... Hope you like whiskey, beer and meteor... if you do it (and I would like to think that is the case), Skøl has covered you with one of the best choices of whiskeys you will find in Des Moines! The prices are suitable for the most part, although some of the rarer pouring can be a bit sufficient. The Meads they offer are also fantastic, but the prices will make you think of a second pour. Food is also cheap. The decor is suitable for the theme and the staff was always attentive and friendly. Is Skøl perfect? Well, close, but no. The room is small. This adds to its charm, but it becomes loud when the space begins to fill and sitting quickly becomes a hot raw material. Another small handle is ALWAYS cold. Always. I'm a big guy and usually run hot, but almost every time I'm in this restaurant, I'm freezing and have to ask if they can warm up the place a bit (before the whiskey, of course, does the trick). The complaints are slightly compared to what Skøl offers, so add this place to your lunch or dinner plans!
This place is great. Big enough to host a group, but small enough to talk to the people you are with. I tried three tacos. The best is the Chili Colorado. The salmon was 2nd and 3rd the burnt ends. All were good, but the Chili Colorado was GREAT! Beer selection differs from most places on Des Moines, which is a certain plus.
Skol is a Nordic theme bar covered with thrives, shields and other living influences. The owner actually went to Norway to make sure that this place holds and really does. I felt like a Scandinavian restaurant from 1066. You are not officially a Viking football bar, but you can find me there on Sunday with my purple jersey and a beer in your hand. I had great tacos and delicious beer. The bartenders are the most friendly on the planet and helped me get some fantastic beers. My only wish is that they get a Nordic brewery on **** like Hammerheart from the north or Trve from the west. SKOL!
Great service! Although not Vikings or Norwegian foods, but more like Tex Mex. It was good.
This place is a gem! Great good (salmon was mouth watering. Mmm! Exceptional (5-6 page! and unique beverage selection, very upbeat staff. The fusion cuisine sounds strange but I promise it's sooooo worth it. Des Moines is missing out on something truly inspired here! This is totally my husband and I's new spot, no joke.
