Amazing Breads Cakes - Des Plaines

They bake one of the best sourdough breads I have been able to find in Midwest! Everything else, cakes and pastries and even occasional soup and pierogi is also delicious and fresh. Every time there is a different selection of tasty cookies. And it doesn't hurt that the ladies who run this shop are super nice! It's a great addition to downtown Des Plaines. Great place to meet up with your friends and pick up some treats for folks back at home!

Love love love this place! I'm glad they're in DP. This should be treasured. I've been coming to this place almost everyday since I discovered them last week. They have absolutely amazing and delicious baked goodies! Location's perfect... easy to find parking in front and to the side of the store. Parking in downtown DP can be a pain so where they are is a sweet spot. They don't have a big sign so might be easy to miss if you don't know where to look. On to the goodies... What makes me come by everyday is their caramel croissants. So, so good! They are flaky and fresh and the caramel is just the right amount of sweet heaven. They are not available everyday but I always get one if I ask. Another of one my favorites is the linzer tart. It's a crumbly pastry that has a fruit filling. It comes in cranberry, apricot, and raspberry. Also comes in 3 sizes I believe--small for 3.50, medium for 8, and large for 12. It knocked my socks off when I first tried it and I haven't looked back. Another must try in my opinion is their breakfast pizza. It's only available on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. It's like a regular pizza but with eggs and bacon instead. It's about 3.75 or 3.95 I think. Overall I'm a happy and satisfied customer! They have other goodies that I haven't tried yet so will definitely be back.

So lucky to have this amazing place in Des Plaines. Not only do things look beautiful, they taste even better. Croissants are light and flaky, blueberry scones are the best I've ever had, and the breakfast pizza is now possibly my new favorite thing to eat! Worry a trip here any day. So much better than any grocery or chain store could even dream of creating.

The breakfast pizza and the chocolate croissants are truly amazing. This place has fantastic pastries, it is super cute inside, and the sisters, who own the place, are very friendly and informative. I highly recommend.

The coffee and pastries (croissant, biscuit, two different types of cookies sampled) were absolutely mouth watering. I don't think I've ever had a croissant so flaky! The ambience was warm and welcoming, just like the service. This is just the kind of place downtown Des Plaines needs!
