The hummus, veggie grape leaves, beet salad (wow), shawarma, lentil soup…on and on with exquisitely seasoned delightful food. I can’t wait to come back!!!
This place is garbage. Went here for a birthday dinner and it was easily the worst dinner I’ve ever been to. Prior to coming we called to make sure that we were able to split the bill and we were told we could. When we arrived our waitress (Demi) told us that it was too difficult and we were not able to split bills. We waited over an hour to get our drinks which was glasses of wine, vodka waters, and a few specialty drinks. We let our waitress (Demi) know that we still didn’t have our drinks and she rolled her eyes at us and walked away. Not once after that were we asked if we needed anything. Never got refills on water or any other drinks. Our food took an hour and a half to come out. We then spoke with the manager who was also extremely rude, about how long it took to get our food and drinks and he told us that was a normal wait time for food and drinks (absolutely crazy). I will never be back to this place because of how rude the staff and manager were to us and I absolutely will not recommend this place.
Waited an hour and ten minutes for our drinks and over two hours for our food. When we talked to the manager he said “2 hours is the normal dining time”… don’t come here if you’re hungry! Watched another table sit down after us and get their food and drinks before us. When the food finally came, we were missing several things. Our sever was also very rude. Never again.
Leila Restaurant in Detroit is an absolute gem! The food is a delightful fusion of creativity and tradition, and the staff provides warm and attentive service. I can't wait to return for another exceptional dining experience.
It wasn’t a good experience. The staff seemed uncaring and inattentive. The food was slow to come out and they kept forgetting what we ordered and having to bring it out way after. The food was soooo salty and the grilled kabobs were chewy and not tender, the kafta was super salty and the chicken was the only good meat we had. The kibbe, batata harra and baba ganouch were good but we spent 420 dollars on food that really didn’t feel worth it.the worst part of it was when I asked for a box to take the rice with me, the girl said she would do it and proceeded to clean the table in several trips. I told her I could box it we had to leave because my toddler was getting restless, the girl left and then threw the box at me and walked away with zero eye contact. I don’t think we will be coming back unfortunately.
