Perhaps even better than the food here are the kind and welcoming people. If you're in midtown and are looking for food that is delicious and reasonably priced, Small World Kitchen is a great option.
Great biryani! Real hummus. We hit this place up after visiting the science center. We tried a little bit of everything, Indian, American, Greek, and Italian, and it all tasted really good. The biryani was delicious! The place was eerily quiet, though, and the service was adequate, just one person taking orders behind the counter and bringing you your food if you are eating in. It's a walk up order style restaurant, and you serve yourself a water or get a canned drink. It's in the basement of a school, so it's a little off the beaten path in the museum/arts district Parking was fairly easy to secure. I'd eat there again, but probably take out, as the atmosphere was a little too quiet, and I felt like we were being too loud just talking normally as a family of five.
We loved this hidden gem! The food was excellent, and the server was so kind. We tried the vegetable curry and the Mideast Feast, and both were delicious.
