Sweetheart Bakery - Detroit

I brought my daughter here for her 4th birthday cake and had a fantastic experience. We received a warm welcome, and the cake was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place!

This bakery has been a cherished part of my life since 1996. I always looked forward to getting out of school at St. Jude and being rewarded with a brownie or cupcake from the bakery. The cakes have a nostalgic, traditional vibe that may not appeal to everyone, but there's no mistaking a Sweetheart bakery cake! I hope the wonderful ladies who run it continue to keep this place alive for as long as they can.

The sour Dough Rye Bread is the best around, but they consistently give bread bad use by dates. I buy at Nino's and this happens every single time date is tomorrow
