The Rattlesnake Club - Detroit

The menu was innovative, offering a range of intriguing dinner options. Everything we ordered was excellent.

Perch was excellent, dessert was outstanding and the coffee was great. Service was outstanding also.

The food was exceptional, but the service was disappointing. Our server took an unusually long time to attend to us, even though there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant. To make matters worse, they initially provided us with a dinner menu, so after we placed our orders, they had to return to change them. Ultimately, while the food was excellent, I found it to be overpriced, especially for a lunch meal.

We had a very enthusiast waitress who took our drink orders right away. We had to wait for quite a while before a server came with a bread basket, then longer still before our waitress came back. Our first course was delicious, and very enjoyable. Our main course was the Lamb Wellington. When it arrived it was immediately obvious that it had been over cooked. Mine was a little past medium whereas my guest's was medium well mostly brown. Though my guest did eat some of the lamb, we did complain. The waitress took the plate to the chef to let him know which is all we asked to pass on the information. The waitress returned with the plate, with a comment from the chef that it wasn't all over done. WITH HER FINGERS started to pry apart the lamb to show us! This was really quite appalling and should never happen at any restaurant, especially one like the Rattlesnake. The chef offered complimentary desserts in apology. The owner is a friend, and we will let her know what happened. It should not have. Makes me sad. I've always loved the Rattlesnake.

Quirky and slightly outdated decoration. eating was good and service was great. would have been better with a larger amount, it was empty in the night.
