We had melon, heirloom tomatoes w/balsamic, seared tuna. Everyone enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and the balance of flavors. No one would have changed their choice. Three of us had the mixed seafood casserole with sautéed vegetables and a saffron cream sauce. The other dish was risotto with shrimp and sautéed vegetables. The shrimp were moist and the vegetables were firm, but not overcooked. Desserts were pastries. Mine was hazelnut buttercream. One was rum cake. I can't remember the other. Desserts were really flavorful, but not overly sweet. The restaurant looks out onto the beach and the table was in front of the windows. Tough on the eyes until sundown. In all a very good dinner in a beautiful setting
Can 't for the life of me understand some of the ratings on this restaurant unless they 've changed the kitchen staff as for the best restaurant in Dieppe , not even close. Sunday lunch booked here with a friend from Paris, as many other places closed. The menu was as long as the bible never a good sign including pizzas and burgers in with the finer dining choices. Starter of boudin blanc in a filo pastry parcel was smothered in a super sweet caramel sauce, as subtle as a flying mallet. Main of lamb noisettes was similarly swamped in an overbearingly rich sauce. The fresh haricots verts were soggy and of dubious provenance, and like the potatoes, possibly from a tin. Other mains from the plats list they had about a half dozen ways of presenting veal had been copiously ladled with creamy sauce. Pudding options were on a colourful laminated A4 page: the usual ice cream/sorbet choices, which we passed on enough of the cream, thanks. The Côte du Rhône was completely unremarkable. Had the chef previously worked for the army? The memory of all those sickly sauces drowning the food stil makes me feel queasy. Try the Marmite Dieppoise or Le Newhaven if you fancy a decent lunch or dinner. We ate well on this most recent trip across France and back, particularly the astounding La Mere Hamard in Semblancay, but this old fashioned (in a bad way) establishment served some of the worst food we 've ever eaten. Avoid like the plague.
We had dinner yesterday and chose the seafood platter that was very good. Excellent service and a good wine list.
Been there many times since January 2019. Your typical sunday restaurant but not only.... Le Bas Fort Blanc has been going on for years serving local seafood delicacies but not only....very good choices of meats, salads, burgers and fresh pastas. I do 't recommend puzzas though but anything else is great. Good desserts too and an extensive wine menu. If you are really hungry, take the full course 41.5 euros which is fantastic. Old school french food...but you got be hungry, now you are warned! Remember you would pay twice the price in Paris for same menu.
I took my Mum there for a Sunny Sunday lunch. This restaurant has been going on for many many years and is located at the end of the beach, passed the Castle. There is another cafe joint nearby too where you can enjoy sunsets by the way. Please be prepared for a large and fine meal french style. There is only one set menu which is a bit pricey but once you try it ! Man it is actually a bargain. Fish is ultra fresh but meats are also delicious. If you don't feel like a fine french food you can indulge yourself in a homemade pizza or burger! I can only recommend it. Probably the best restaurant in Dieppe. 20 feet away from the sea.
