Feedback gevenAnother recommendation of the hotel's staff. the menu bourguignon ordered. I chose oeuf meurette, risotto escargot and tiramisu cassis. the service was very fast. I managed to end all my food within an hour. tiramisu was a little abandoned when the cassis was very upset.
The terse descriptions on the menu do not make the cooking art fair, which is top-class. To be honest, the main thing was so good that I could fail. friendly, efficient service, cuddly and smart. good offer from traditional to Asian fusion.
A really good gastronomic bistro, their Burgundy specials are just amazing boeuf bourguignon and oeufs meurette. And it’s not very expensive, a 3 course meal is €25
Second time at this popular restaurant right next to the superb covered market. Compared to my first visit this was not as enjoyable, food was a bit lacklustre and service was slow and disorganised. What I wanted was steak and chips/fries but surprisingly this was...not an option that was available. Surely a restaurant called ‘le bistrot des Halles’ should have such an obvious choice... Chose 6 oysters, which when they eventually arrived, were fine but served with only a single tiny wedge of a lemon there was the shallot vinegar and ordinary bread but no butter. For the next course I decided to have steak tartare with fries, another long wait until that arrived with an incredibly oversalted rocket and shaved Parmesan salad which was virtually inedible plus a bowl of unappealing fries that tasted of overused cooking oil. The tartare itself was good but unfortunately let down by the other stuff. I had a glass of wine, a coffee and no dessert and the bill came to €35,90 I guess this place was having a bad day it wasn’t particularly busy but I felt that it lacked direction and enthusiasm the first time I had lunch here (January ‘19) was much better.
1. we were seated at the terrace and it was cold. When we asked the waiter to change the table, he said that it’s too complicated (and there were empty tables around). The guy literally said that if all the guests start changing the tables,...it’ll be the mess. 2. asked for balsamic sauce for tartar, but they never brought it. 3. there is no food for kids. If you are with children, this bistro is not for you. 4. Very slow service
