Feedback gevenWe needed a respite from cycle-touring and the Weld Street Inn was perfect. We were greeted by Anne Marie and quickly accommodated. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit and homemade bagels. We even got to do a load of laundry. Fantastic little touches from the hostess. This place is quite special in historical terms, unlike any place we've ever stayed.
Great place..a little creepy at night (our room wasn't creepy at all, very nice actually). It is haunted soooo if you like that kind of stuff, it's a must do!! AMAZING homemade fresh baked bagels!
Went today to visit! The owner is amazing! Cant wait to return! Oh and try the food, you wont regret it!

Access to our room on the second floor required navigating a narrow, steep staircase that was about 30 feet long and quite treacherous. The stairs were a hazard, and the owners themselves acknowledged that their own daughter had fallen on them twice. There are only two bathrooms for all guests on the first floor, and only one of those has a shower. To reach either bathroom, you have to brave those same precarious stairs. Additionally, the kitchen area and common spaces were cluttered with antiquities, leaving no room to store our luggage and hardly any space around the bed. There were also signs throughout the room warning guests not to touch anything. There are no TVs or WiFi, just a monitor with a note saying it’s only for DWD? I have no idea what that means. It was raining when we arrived, and water was coming down the fireplace in our room. There was a window ventilator that wouldn’t close, creating a constant noise, and a rotating fan on the floor by the bed—no air conditioning either. If someone isn’t comfortable using the shared shower, why can’t they clean up in their own room? There was neither a mirror nor available plugs. The owners charge your credit card immediately upon making a reservation and do not allow for any refunds, regardless of how unacceptable the conditions may be. Unfortunately, we arrived in the dark after making a last-minute reservation by phone during a trip from Rhode Island, without seeing the place first. At check-in, I was asked to sign numerous forms, which turned out to be liability waivers that exempted them from giving refunds, no matter how unsatisfactory the situation might be, even in cases of unexpected illness! Looking back, these documents suggest that they’ve had multiple guests refuse to stay after arrival. My husband, who is 80 years old and undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, needs to use the bathroom several times a night. After the first night, he realized he couldn’t safely manage those stairs, so we offered to pay for just the first two nights but asked for a refund for the rest of the reservation, as it was medically necessary to find alternate accommodations. They refused, citing the signed documents. The conditions were so unacceptable that we felt compelled to dispute the $575.91 charge with our credit card company due to the dangerous environment, yet we still lost that money because of the signed waivers. Despite this loss, we ultimately ended up staying at the much better Wilson Lake Inn for a reduced cost!
