I am not a fussy eater, but I found it hard to choose from the menu if you wanted something a bit different. You were ok if you wanted a burger or a pizza. It seemed to be a menu that was”trying too hard”. I chose the chicken terrine for a starter. It was tasteless and the sour dough bread was brittle. For my main course I ordered Sea bass with a coconut sauce. The sauce turned out to be a curry sauce that totally overpowered the sea bass. Accompanying the fish were a few squares of potatoes with a few strips of crystallised onion. I hadn’t realised that vegetables were a side order at an extra price! This was not offered by the waiter However, I was already thinking it was poor value for money, so adding another £5 on top would have disgruntled me further. On the plus side my husband, who is a plain eater enjoyed his rib eye steak and said it was cooked to his liking. A very disappointing, over priced experience . It is a shame, because we have eaten here previously when staying here. We will stay at the hotel again, but we will be finding another restaurant.
The Sunday lunch at this restaurant was exceptional. The meat portions were generous and incredibly tender, and there was a great variety of perfectly cooked vegetables. I would like to give a special shoutout to our waitress, Jasmin, who delivered top-notch service with a sincere smile, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
We visited this restaurant on a Sunday and tried the three-course menu. The drinks were served promptly, which was a good sign. One of the prawn cocktails initially arrived without sauce, but this was quickly fixed. The main course was disappointing, with overcooked and tough beef and not enough gravy. We had to ask for more gravy, which only arrived after we had already started eating. The vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were decent, but there were no condiments offered and no check-ins from the server. The desserts were the best part of the meal, but the service was lacking, with long wait times between courses and forgotten drink orders. The venue was loud and made conversation difficult. Compared to the Sun Inn at Everton, this restaurant fell short in terms of food and service. We will not be returning due to the poor food quality and service, despite the friendly but slow waitstaff.
The food at this restaurant is consistently of a high quality, and the atmosphere is also top-notch. However, the service can be inconsistent, especially when the restaurant is busy, as it was during Sunday lunch. This was my first time visiting on a Sunday, and I was surprised to learn that they only offer a 3-course set menu for £29.95, with no option to order individual courses.
We called for dinner tonight, the service was appalling. We waited a hour for food. My partner had lamb kofta, two tiny kofta and 3 spoons of rice for a main course! We pointed out the portion size to the waiter who commented that his manager had the dish earlier, and had fed back to the kitchen that the portion size was inadequate. My burger came with soggy lukewarm fries, so that went back as well. We then waited a further 20 min only to be served a re-heated burger with fresh fries and re-heated kofta with 1 fresh kofta and an additional spoon of rice. The manager came no where near and sent a young waiter about 16 years old to the table who was embarrassed to ask if everything was okay. No apology from the manager no gesture of goodwill. We will not be back.
