Crayhouse - Doraville

I visited the restaurant twice since its soft opening to try their lunch menu and seafood buckets, and overall, I really enjoyed it. The hush puppies, which were a side dish, were flavorful and consistent on both visits. I'm a big fan of gumbo, and hers was definitely delicious and well-seasoned—I'd say it's even better than the gumbo at Whole Foods. The balance of fried seafood and breading was just right and very juicy. The seafood bucket was outstanding, especially the corn, along with the shrimp and shellfish. The staff were very friendly, and I will definitely return for more. They currently have a 20% discount due to the soft opening. While they don't serve alcohol yet, it should be available soon!

The alligator bites were delicious and definitely a highlight. The oyster po' boy was good too; the oysters were cooked perfectly, but the bread was a tad on the salty side. A po' boy really depends on the bread. I travel to the French Quarter in New Orleans every year, so I know good po' boys. I also enjoyed the creamy coleslaw. I’ll definitely come back and give this place another chance.

The fried shrimp were incredible!! The best time to visit is during lunch when it's not too crowded, and there are daily lunch specials. I got the fried shrimp for under $10, and it comes with your choice of two sides (I opted for fries and a salad).

Order the almighty Bucket for 2 and Crayfish Etouffee via Door Dash and was definitely satisfied. It was all great!!! Will eat here or order all the time!!!

Another Buford Hwy gem! I ordered the Crayhouse treasure boil with extra shrimp, instead of crawfish. The shrimp were plump and juicy and grab legs meaty. I loved that they give you more than one corn and potato...ahem other places aren't so generous. There are also plenty of daily food and drink specials. Will definitely be returning!
