Husky House - Dorchester

I've always been a fan of Husky for breakfast. We stopped here for lunch and were disappointed. Server wasn't very friendly. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich and asked to replace salad for potatoes (together allowed in restaurants), but only for a... supplement of $ 3.50. We were automatically brought straws (we no longer use straws), no healthy menu for a diabetics. We asked for Splenda instead of aspartame – not possible. Finally, the frozen vegetables were soggy and disgusting.

My wife and I visited this restaurant on Mother's Day for a family meal. Unfortunately, our experience was not great. We were not greeted upon arrival and noticed another couple left because they were not attended to. We ordered a coffee and tea, but the coffee was cold. Despite asking for it to be reheated, it was still not hot. My wife also requested hot water for her tea, but it only made the tea lukewarm. I ordered a bowl of soup, which came out on the cooler side. Despite asking for it to be reheated, there was no improvement. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The food at this restaurant, reminiscent of a typical truck stop, is decent. The omelets and cabbage rolls are tasty, but the ribs are a bit dry and the bacon could be crisper. The sausages and cheesecake are good as well. However, other desserts seem to be freshly thawed. The service, on the other hand, is lacking. While I was reading the paper, I was asked to pay even though I had not finished my desserts yet. The staff should pay more attention to refilling water glasses and clearing used plates.

Went for brunch on Sunday It was busy but found an empty table was offered a menu but opted for the buffet asked for water lemon. Went to buffet got an omelet bacon sausages omelet was excellent returned to buffet when I got...back the used plate was still on the table the bill arrived but the dirty plate stayed returned to buffet several more times soon had several dirty plates and empty water glass finally took glass to omelet station cook she refilled it When I was done eating looked at my bill it said please pay server so I put my credit card on the bill waited waited. Finally saw another customer take their bill to a register near the front I did also The server who came to the till was quick to point out how to add a tip I did leave a tip but thought I should have given it to the cook at the omelet station. I enjoyed everything I had to eat but the service not so much. Is it too much to expect the used plates to be removed the water glass to be refilled

This place is much better than your average roadside restaurant. Good choice of food, served in a clean environment, by pleasant staff. A welcome alternative to the regular fast food outlets.
