So we had to ask for another person to get our check when we were finished.. i did use the survey code 2 times for free pancakes, this made a great breakfast sharing time for daughter and myself. I would order the build your own plate and we got double eggs and double bacon. and we split the whole thing, this was plenty of food for us to start our day at the park. so breakfast cost me around $10 each morning. The only evening meal we had here was the first night and I had the sriracha burger. It was really good. but I asked for seasoned fries and got regular. I didn't bother to correct the bill because I was frustrated that our waiter had left on break and really i was just ready to get some sleep after traveling all day.
This place needs serious work. I was in the area for a two night trip and went to eat each night of the stay because of the convenient location. The first night there were only three families (including mine) eating in the dining room. The server took 25 minutes to bring out our drinks. My cousins silverware was filthy and there was something pressed against the inside of my glass of strawberry lemonade. We order our food and waited about 30 minutes, which wasn 't much of an issue. Upon receiving my food I saw that my hash browns were barely cooked. I was too irritated to complain. To make it bad, none of us were offered refills...and we were there almost two hours. The second evening I placed a to-go order. I paid cash and was told orders paid for with cash don 't receive receipts. I waited in the seating area in the front of the Denny 's for my order. While waiting, I noticed that one of the staff members had friends (not Dennys employees) outside IN THE FRONT waiting for him to talk and smoke cigarettes. He was smoking, in the front of the patron entrance with friends, with his apron on. He was then called in to solve an issue with one of his tables. He tossed the still lit cigarette onto the ground in front of the door and walked inside. I then received my food . My burger was okay, but my fries were old and barely warm. Way to go Denny 's.
We tried to eat here last year during our family roller coaster vacation and it was a disaster from day 1. Seeing that the hotels were under new names and updated, we thought perhaps Denny 's would have improved. It is convenient and right here where we stay, so being the optimists we generally are, we decided to give it another chance. When will we every learn??? When we checked in, we had to way for almost an hour for our rooms to be ready so we decided we would go to Denny 's and get some milkshakes, etc. to get out of the extreme heat. It was 10 minutes before someone took our oder and there were only four other people in the place (a total of 2 tables). We ordered a total of 6 milkshakes and one scoop of ice-cream. 20 minutes after ordering we were told they had no vanilla. 20 more minutes later still no milkshakes. We are at the 50 minute mark from sitting down at the table. Our waitress was nowhere to be seen. There was a new guy at the counter who only smiled and threw up his hands. At the 1 hour mark, we finally got up and left after telling the smiling Denny 's guy at the counter what had happened. Again, all he did was throw his hands up and smile saying, I don 't blame you. Wow.
Ok. You spent the day at KD and you are tired and staving. You feel like a sit down restaurant with table service and the nearest thing is probably another 5 10 miles away off of I 95 This Denny's will suite your purpose, so don't expect a 5 star dining experience (It's part of the Best Western hotel for crying out loud). The food is ok, the prices are very reasonable and the service was good. We have had a chance to dine here two times after a day at KD and would dine here again (if in the mood for Denny's food). Being vegetarians, there is not much of a selection of food to eat at KD's, so this is a good alternative to paying too much for basically nothing inside the park. BTW This restaurant is walkable from the park, with a full Denny's menu, so it is also an alternative to eating inside the park or packing a picnic meal to eat in the parking lot. Also; I believe that the there is a lounge connected to this restaurant, so they do offer beer, wine and mixed drinks if you want an adult beverage with your meal.
Not bad. Not great. But not bad. Annoying to have to wait and wait and wait and wait some more for the syrup for my pancakes to trickle out of a container designed to serve oil or vinegar from. .. Good service. Short wait and attentive for refills etc.
