Le Dernier Comptoir Colonial - Douala

A famous restaurant right at the entrance of the sea. douala, kamerun. I enjoy eating and decorating.

This is one of the most famous restaurants at the river wouri estuary. it offers some delicious seafood and grills. the restaurant is well designed with a long pier that extends into the water to provide a very romantic seating opportunity. they would also appreciate the photo possibilities it offers, with the flow flowing down and fishing by sailing. the best time to visit is in the afternoon and in the early evening. the woodwork is now very old and needs intense repairs to give it back there is a rustic and luxurious feeling.

A nice place to hang out with family or friends, far from the bustling city and shielded from the occasional scorching Douala heat

The place looks natural, the breeze, sound of waters crashing on rocks on the shore is very relaxing but the service is very slow, and the food itself okay okay.

I have only been here for a drink a few times and It is OK. The staff are mostly terrible, well.normal I guess for Cameroon, slightly off hand and abrupt. Kind of rude really. However today one of the staff wascreallu lovely. They never have all the drinks on the menu available. But It is a nice view and very tranquil. Not tried the food... nor sure if I would either.
