Very expensive, limited menu, food was ok not great. Better available elsewhere.
We went to Sunday lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. My partner and I are vegan after we had told the cook that we had already had twice a weekend during our trip to the IOM Risotto, we were told that they would do something special for us (the vegan Wellington had nuts in it and I am allergic). They were so helpful and accommodating, and the food was fantastic. The three not vegans at the party also enjoyed their Sunday dinner with huge Yorkshire puddings. The only negative was that they had no vegetarian severity, but suspect that this could be the case that we brought a brand new glass of m and s and they kindly warmed it for us. Five star service and food. The best place on the island was me!
We were happy enough, at The Abbey Restaurant for a wedding reception this year, we made the long trip from South Wales and we must say it was worth it! Above all, special mention of the staff and the owner of the abbey, everyone was friendly and accommodating, we were offered food and drinks and felt like family welcome. The restaurant itself has a tasteful decor and is well located in a beautiful area of the island. We hope to be back on the island sometime so we can visit the abbey again. P.S. This band has eaten many a hoofbread this year, and you still seem like the sharpest!
First-class food service. Not traditional (at modern age) dishes revived. Lamb Sweet Bread Beef Cheeks! Great.
