Marquis - Dover

Beautiful place to eat well to visit, but the lighting through outside was awfully so bright and strong with LED daylight lamps in all downlights not a good movement when paying a lot of money for a meal for two.

Amazing selection of inventive dresses always well cooked and beautifully presented. the service is always excellent. definitiw recommended!

Eating was excellent for me as well as for my partner (which is vegetarian) nicely cooked, fine eating, interesting dishes that will certainly feel 'special' and justify the price tag that is reassuringly expensive without being too expensive. the service really lets the marquis at this opportunity down. we had booked the night before we arrived via open table, received a confirmation note, etc., and yet when we arrived there was no note of our booking on the writing. fortunately, they had a table for 2, which might be unusual for Saturday night, so we came to eat. service was very pleasant, but a bit chaotic, e.g. had to ask after starting for brot, and then hunt after dessert when it did not arrive for 20 min. the latter was sharpened by the table next door, which had supplied her dessert within 1 min of order (after she had also overlooked a little, for one), although we had ordered the same dessert 15 min earlier (the 5 min later arrived!) again the waiter was really, really, really, really apologetic, and if it had been a standard gastro powder, then I would not even mention the

I guess that was a midday, but there was only one choice of three to start and a fairly limited choice of the main meal. it was cooked

Restaurant didn't have any knowledge of our booking, even though we had had confirmation from open table. They were however very accomadating and did manage to find us a table in the private dining area. Staff were very friendly but seemed a bit rushed and service was a bit slow at times. Food was excellent as always and we really enjoyed our meal
