The place was almost empty, maybe two other tables and a few people at the counter, but our waitress dropped the food and then we didn't see it again. No refills on water, no warming up on coffee, no review at all. We actually had to get up and go to the desk to get the check at which point they appeared again. We didn't want to go back.
Very nice place right on VT-100. Fast and friendly service. I love our waitress, originally from NY. Order the Mimosa Flight, Cajun Skilled and Chili Benedict. The chili beenedict must be on the menu... it is a FANTASTIC balance of flavors, and the maize bread perfectly binds in the sweetness with saltiness and sweetness. Sunflower Toast was very interesting and good. Cajun Skillet was not so hot (although I slowly got used to warm up to me and was usually salty. The Mimosa flight was interesting and overall a great value... there are grapefruit, cranberry and orange peel, with a decent alcohol in each. Coffee is also SUPER WEAK, and it was an ongoing complaint that was obviously never addressed. (I think I'm an intermediate coffee person looking for hints; the coffee here is like water, and this is not an exaggeration. Great value, definitely worth the stop!
Food is really good, but service is REALLY missing. Both times I was here, I heard a waitress who is evil on customers who make smart comments. The staff seems to be honest as if they don't want to work and it shows in service. It is such a shame because the food is great, but the bad service leaves a bad taste.
Good food however both times we have gone only serving breakfast due to lack of staff. While we understand staffing is a huge issue currently the service was horrible and the waitresses were rude.
Good food, great service and a nice dinning area are the core aspects of Betsey's/dots that has made this place a staple for years. We visit every time we are in the area
