Taqueria Del Rey - Dowagiac

Drove by on 2/11/19 and all signs are down with a hand written note saying a new restaurant is coming soon. The food is excellent. You have to order your food up at the counter before taking your seat but they do bring the food out to your table. Service is always fast and friendly. Definitely recommend this place for authentic Mexican food.

We've eaten here several times. The food is very good. The salsas are all homemade and very unique. The tacos, enchiladas, tamales are all wonderful. Did I mention the prices...they are really reasonable. If you want to know what real Mexican food is try this place...seriously!

I found this little place this summer and have been making the drive ever since. I have only ever ordered the taco platter as it’s so good and so inexpensive that I am reluctant to try anything else. Remember to ask for the two bottles of salsa. That with the one brought to the table with your chips adds a lot to the experience.

I have gotten take out from here a few times and have been impressed with the authenticity of the food. I enjoy a smaller menu for the simple reason that the put that much more work into those items. I do however believe that numbering there orders would help significantly. All in all those are minor to the overall rating. There food was great!

I've visited this restaurant several times, and each visit has been a unique and flavorful experience. I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try the tongue, which was delicious. The food seems genuinely authentic, and I found the combination of great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service to be impressive. I encourage others to do the same and take a chance on new flavors—you won't regret it!
