Slate Bleu - DOYLESTOWN

I’ve visited this place twice. A few years ago, I was delighted to try the calf livers, but upon my return this year, I was initially disappointed to find chicken livers on the menu instead. I hesitated, but decided to be bold and order the Sautéed Chicken Liver. My anxiety vanished the moment the dish arrived. Until then, I had only encountered bland chicken livers sitting atop unremarkable pasta dishes. At Slate Bleu, however, they serve it on a delicate corn crepe, generously drizzled with a rich sherry sauce. The chicken liver is thinly sliced and perfectly cooked, with none of the gritty texture I typically expect from lesser cuts. It was transformed into something extraordinary—each bite was buttery, creamy, and utterly decadent. This remarkable dish exceeded all my expectations for chicken livers and will linger in my memory for a long time. The chef and owner should take great pride in this creation. After trying to replicate it at home, I have a strong suspicion that I won’t be able to come close.

Wonderful local treasure in Doylestown! The food has a French flair, is always fresh, and if you have the chance to eat at the bar. The cocktails they created are really handmade! I had the gnocchi and will definitely have it again.

Very nice atmosphere. Service friendly and not excessively vibrate. Didn't hurry. The food was good and well prepared. Weakest was desserts, but still very pleasant. Beverage prices reasonable with interesting decisions. Will return.

Fuller lived up to my expectations of French style food. We had the goat cheese, Spinat Leek Crepe (covered in a tasteful tomato sauce), Panko Shrimp and Thai muscles. A perfect light still filling meal. Followed with the homemade ice assortment (Pick 3). I wish I could have tried them all. The dark chocolate orange ice cream was too good! Doylestown is perfect for stylish food without the liveliness of downtown.

The interior is well appointed, lighting is low/romantic. The staff is very friendly, the menu is typical for fine French dinning. I was there with four other people and each of us had a wonderful meal. The price is in line with higher end restaurants, will absolutely eat here again.
