I had a troubling experience at the Subway in Dresden, Tennessee. I witnessed an employee handling meat with her bare hands, then touching her face, handling cash, all without washing her hands. To make matters worse, she was drinking a Sprite while slicing the meat. When I pointed out that she seemed to have forgotten to wear gloves, she responded rudely, denied what I saw, and became quite confrontational. I was truly shocked and disgusted by her behavior, and I felt it was important for others to be aware of what Kathy is doing when she thinks no one is watching. On a positive note, the other employee was very pleasant and worked hard, so I decided to tip her $20 in cash, hoping she wouldn’t have to share it with Kathy. I've heard horror stories about the food service industry, but experiencing this firsthand was something else entirely.
