The latter was a bit salty but the bread was very chewy, the cherry tart was tasty as well, not too sweet. Good selection of baked goods, both sweet and savory, and there's space to sit inside and outside as well to enjoy the food!
Nice bakery and coffeeshop. Tasty pastries, coffee average. Nothing too special, but in a convienent location with OK prices
This place is an acquired taste. This is right in front of the Altmarkt Square, perfect location. They might seem rigorous in their ways in terms of customer service but the food is very good here. This is a good excuse of a place or the best place to practice your German phrases. They only take cash. The selection of bread is varied but I can vouch for the sandwiches and the desserts. Do not expect ice cubes from this place, they just do not have any. Coffee and any way you like them made, they can make, hot or cold. Ask nicely, and don 't forget to say bitte . Free wifi as well. There are additional seating upstairs, it is to your right on a flight of stairs as you enter the cafe. If you like sugar with your cappucino ask for sugar. They do not have a counter with sugar and napkins and all that; you just have to ask. The ladies there are very nice, the younger ones speak english; and they speak it very well. I find this place so typical German in service, no nonsense just tell me what you want and I give it to you with no fuss kind of place. I had a slice of their Mohn-Sahneschnitte and I had to go back a few hours later to have another one, it was that good. The cream-filling was light, not too sweet but the poopy seed filled cake and the crunchy toffee pieces with the bits of chocolate touch on top was d-i-v-i-n-e. I also had their mozza and tomato sandwich triangular in shape it was so good. The lettuce was crunchy in winter?! and the tomato was perfect and the mozza was so very good with the exceptional cheese bread. They also make very good cappucino note that Starbucks was a few feet away . The glass it was served on was also a conversation piece. Nice touch. Dresden has a lot of hidden treasures when it comes to places to eat for cheap, and this place is one of them. I ate here and had coffee as often as I can while in Dresden. I can safely say, I will be back. And next time I will be armed with a few more phrases to praise them for the great pastries they have. They were serving a wide selection of teas for winter March 2018 . Fruit infused and others mostly with berries; I saw green tea as an option as well. They had soups and salads also. Bread galore! Before closing time, a young lady goes around to all the seated customers to remind them that the cafe will be closing in a few minutes and that you better hurry up and finish that cup of coffee. I liked that. As I 've said, I like the directness but the food was very good as well.
There are many options of coffee drinks and deserts. Free WiFi and seating inside and out is perfect!
