Someone went to look and about 5 min later, was told they were making the nachos. Translation, we lost your ticket because it was 20 min later that the food finally came out. At minimum they should have apologized, not the young waitstaff, but those in charge, but no. Not a well run operation that while they may be making money, they are leaving tons of money on the table with their general inefficiency. What was also interesting was the snack bar downstairs, and I don 't now if they are the same company or not, but they had some people standing around. Why not bring them upstairs to help out in that kitchen? Better luck next time, if there is one.
Our first experience at Skolhaugen was a pleasant surprise. Variety of ages and personalities collide for the love of skiing. Kids with rosie cheeks enjoying each sip of their ice monster blue raspberry concoction. Older generations sipping on old fashions complaining of soar ankles with a twinkle in their eye and frost on their eyebrows. We stayed for the late night ski. Brought to you by the younger crowd that rolled in right as the clock struck the 9 o'clock hour to hit the slopes. A lovely get away, a beautiful mountain, friendly staff an atmosphere for any age.
The lounge is really nice. We've been here a few times now. It's quite a nice place to see a band. Sometimes it gets really crowded in there, it really depends on the night. There is a beautiful view of the slopes, and the windows are huge. It's especially fun to go watch the skiing when they have late night deals! There are a lot of skiers and snowboarders, and you can see the trick hill right from the lounge. The staff is not very helpful. Last time we were there, we asked for food, and were told they didn't have any, but we saw a bunch of people getting food service after we asked. They also neglected to let us know about the snack bar downstairs. It can be very difficult to get someone's attention to get a drink. I will definitely be back, because they have really cool bands, and it's a great space!
Well, this place has a better and more diverse vibe than my initial impressions. Or maybe I'm just used to it? I like it!
Home away from home! Ask anyone, you won’t find a more people friendly resort around! Ski or board, all are welcome!
