Found this lovely restaurant by happy accident. We had tried to find somewhere to park in Dreux central without success and were heading north out of town when we spotted this typically French bistro. Red and white awning outside and red and white check tablecloths inside. Felt like I walked onto an Ello Ello set. The welcome was lovely despite our French being rubbish and their English being less than basic. At 15€ for the menu of the day was great value.I had the porc as a starter which turned out to be pork tongue. Wouldn't have voluntarily ordered this but it was delicious; really tender and beautifully cooked. Happy I went in 'blind'. Hubbie had melon and ham - no problems at all. Then we had the duck confit. Have never had a bad confit in France and wasn't disappointed this time.Skipped the cheese as full up and doing a long drive after but deserts were scrumptious. Cream brûlée and apricot tart. Was a lovely meal with charming hosts. Thoroughly recommend for great food and value. I do need to brush up my French though!!!
Have eaten their several times on our way to and from the UK [we live in France] and it is unfailingly good. A nice surprise on our last visit was the Chinon vielle vignes as a house wine ,cheap but delicious.Friendly service and very, very good value.
Bonne accueil, bon rapport qualité prix, bonne cuisine selon les règles de l'art,Je trouve juste que la quantité de légumes accompagnant les plats, est légèrement insuffisante.
