I highly recommend this restaurant in Dryden. The Bannock bread is exceptional and every meal I have tried there has been delicious.
This restaurant offers a refreshing change of pace for a small town like Dryden, but unfortunately, it serves many of the same dishes that you can find at other places.
What an interesting experience! We were passing though town and looking for a place to eat and we're pointed toward this restaurant by a local. None of us had ever had bannock (fried bread, a traditional First Nations food), and we all loved it! Service was very good. Although we all enjoyed our food, consensus in the family was that my meal was the best: it was a sandwich with fried egg and fried cheese with fried potatoes on Bannock (I forget what it was called). I'd recommend trying that!
We ate lunch here recently and enjoyed some delicious bannock and homemade soup. Traditional bannock is made fresh every day from a family recipe. It's so delicious. The wild rice and chicken soup was also tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. There are many more items on the menu making it a good place to eat any time of the day. Most offerings include bannock but other options are available. We came for the bannock and were not disappointed. We definitely plan to return to Kokum Bannock Shack the next time we are in the area.
