The food was amazing but cold plates is a faux pas. If the food could stay hot and there was more space between tables we would be very happy. Great service from all waiters. Happy New Year
A long time since I’d last been in F&B. It was better than I remembered. Halibut main course was the star of the show . Although the cheese platter and apple bread and butter pudding were also top. Really appreciated the informed and helpful service staff. Will be back again soon!
Fabulous setting and staff very friendly Food amazing but portions on the very small side bit disappointing
The restaurant appeared to be very busy when we arrived and staff appeared a little stressed and this probably reflected our experience on the night. It appeared to take a while for our order to be taken but our wine and starters arrived quite promptly afterwards. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the beets salad was quite light and delicate. Our mains were slower to arrive and the ordered sides never materialised. The haddock and garnish was very nice Whilst the sea bass tasted nice, I suspect that it had lingered under the heated lamp of the pass too long given the appearance of a film on the sauce. The green beans were Al dente which I personally like. My husband had almost finished his main by the time we could let staff know that we had not received our side dishes. The waiter did try to get some for us but it would be a few minutes and both of us would have been finished our food so we opted not to receive them. We ordered one dessert between us- it was in no way memorable or worth the price. We did receive complimentary champagne with our dessert as we were celebrating an Anniversary which was a nice touch. Toilets- these are located upstairs beside the function/ballroom. I believe that the lift also services them. They are very clean with a variety of toiletries and a basket of emergency items such as plasters etc. The most prompt part of the evening was the time between asking for the bill and the card machine arriving. It was also probably the best service we received as the sommelier had a great discussion about wine districts. We only ended up leaving a tip due to this interaction. The bill for 2 starters , 2 mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine €37) was €154 excluding tip. The food was very nice but the service on the night let the restaurant down.
