Feedback gevenWe visited this restaurant on November 1, 2022, excited to try their ribeye steaks after enjoying their pizzas on previous visits. Unfortunately, we were shocked by how poor the steaks were. They were extremely tough and full of gristle. We were disappointed by the lack of quality control from the chef. When we asked to speak to the manager about our experience, he was unresponsive and eventually disappeared. Instead, a young server attempted to address our concerns. Even the chef briefly emerged from the kitchen to discuss our complaint before returning to his station. This negative experience has made this once beloved restaurant lose its appeal for us. The previous manager was much more customer-focused. Our rating for the manager is zero.
Great location, really nice atmosphere. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. Would highly recommend with family or friends.
We really enjoyed the food. There were 3 of us and we ordered starters to share and 2 mains. Reasonably priced as the sizes were generous and we actually were full after the 3 starters. Their staff were nice , however, starters came out after almost 30 mins. Deffo worth the wait though.
This is a restaurant with serious customer service issues and despite being regulars in the past we will not be returning. On our previous visit for a family occasion our table area was buzzed with flies from the time we sat. Instead of leaving, and because we previously had good experiences here, we pointed the problem out to our waitress and asked to move to another empty table. She saw the fly issue and returned having spoken to the manager who said we could not be accommodated at another table, despite the restaurant being half empty. We left and followed up with the owner who confirmed the pest control issue in the restaurant and apologised for us not being accommodated elsewhere. Fast forward to our subsequent visit which we booked in advance only to be met with outright hostility from the double-act at reception. Having phoned and confirmed the booking the day before and them somehow losing it overnight, we were accused of making up the phone call, then of calling the wrong restaurant, then of inventing the staff member we spoke to. Bizarrely, the owner was present in the background and when asked, stated she ‘might have taken the booking’ in question but was incapable of resolving the issue. Ultimately, they made no attempt to accommodate us or resolve the issue, despite their errors in taking and recording our booking. The owner did point out that their pest controller is spraying daily to deal with the fly issue. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place – there are several better options in the area. Union Café is nearby in Mount Merrion and a far safer bet all round.
Arrived on time at 6:00pm on 25/09/21 with table booked, wait staff were very slow to bring our food, We finished our starters and waited for our mains, and waited and waited some more, mains finally arrived about 45 min later and were eaten. Plates were cleared promptly and we asked for desert menus, 2 minutes later the manager came over with the bill and said he needed the table, this was an extremely poor customer experience, having to wait so long for our food and then to be rushed off the table ruined the evening (my wife is pregnant, seems poor form to rush a pregnant woman out the door). We had visited often before, we will not be back!!!
