The Dog House Blues Tea Room - Dublin

Have come here every New Year’s Eve with the family for years. Tonight is the last time we’ll come. The dog house has well and truly gone to the dogs. Our booked table wasn’t there. They’d given it to someone else. To their credit, they moved people then to rectify their mistake. The food when they got it right was tasty as usual but there was over an hour delay between ordering and receiving our starters. Nothing complicated, just nachos. We had to send back one item twice as they got it completely wrong both times how hard is it to get “plain burger” right? Pizza arrived with the wrong toppings. Service was incredibly slow. The place wasn’t busy, and it may be because the place has got so bad. If it was possible to give less than one star, I would.

Had a lovely early dinner at the Dog House today and no dogs with us) . Food was really good portions were generous. Staff were lovely and friendly. Will definitely return with our two dogs the next time we visit.

Beautiful and quirky venue. Place was extremity quiet when we arrived. Was still left waiting for a considerable amount of time. Ordered a soup for a starter. It was completely inedible. Politely sent it back whereupon the manager on duty long hair and pony-tail) loudly asked the kitchen to make him a small bowl. He then passed us and loudly stated ‘delicious, thanks guys’. We said nothing and awaited mains. The burger was bland but ok. Fish cakes were ok. The two younger staff members were polite and friendly but the quality of food, and behaviour of the manager would mean I would tell everyone to avoid

Lovely place, very quirky. Friendly staff and lovely food. Very good for disability access. Dogs enjoyed it too.

I went to the doghouse in howth last week with my family, the venue is amazing and so is the vibe! Food was incredible too! I will definitely be back! Definitely one of my new favourite spots! I’ll see you guys again soon
