Very vintage decoration, very homely and original. Quite alternative. For me personally, the fact that it is not on a main street and that it is not always crowded is a point in its favor. The quality of the coffee is very good as well as the dishes on the menu. The portion is quite generous. The service is friendly and calm, so the atmosphere is perfect for going to work on the computer, reading, meeting someone... They speak English and Spanish. I totally recommend it for those looking for alternatives to the typical tourist sites in the city.
Got coffee and French toast. Coffee was already warm when it came and cold by the time I drank it, also the coffee shop was so cold.. seats are old. So very vintage vibes as the name of the coffee shop suggests. Could have been warmer.
A nice chill place to meet friends (3.5/5 Green Stars On a sunny afternoon, the outdoor seating area at Fegan’s was pretty busy but we managed to nab a table. Staff members were all nice as pie and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I had a spinach roll and pistachio cake (vegan , which were both really good – particularly the cake. Nice to see a demonstration that vegan cakes can be every bit as good, if not better, than cakes made with conventional dairy. I also had a Madri beer but then switched to Franciscan Well. Madri seems to have come from nowhere to dominate advertising in Ireland’s bars and cafes right now so I looked it up – it’s marketed by Molson Coors (boo! . Anyway, Fegan’s is a fun, whimsical place to spend time – check out their vegan cakes! I’m giving Fegan’s 3.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, for these reasons: • Perhaps slightly more veggie options than an average place, but still a lot of meat on the menu. There are a lot of good meat substitutes available now so it would be nice to see some effort to include them. For example, I think a substitute like Quorn mince would work fine in their cottage pie and lasagna. • They have a selection of really good vegan cakes. • Fegan’s website states that ingredients are “all ethically produced, organic, and free range, where possible.” • The menu states that eggs are free range. • All 4 beers brands are owned by Molson Coors (Madri, Blue Moon, Franciscan Well, Aspall’s cider although some were once indie. Molson Coors ranks below average in terms of ethics, in general. For example, it was one of the top donors to climate denial research in the US. Of the four, Franciscan Well is the better choice.
Quirky cafe right behind the Four Courts so popular with the legal fraternity. Always interesting clientele and decent food. Has a good atmosphere and excellent brunch menu. Misses out on 5 stars because it’s quite cold, especially in the winter, and because the lunch menu is a bit unimaginative. Brunch (served till 12 on weekdays but later at the weekend) is much better.
Good food (Toast and Sandwiches), rapid service and nice staff. Location without heating and the atmosphere can be improved. Meal type: Brunch Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
