Udipi Cafe Eclectic Indian Vegetarian

This is a wonderful place to try and enjoy authentic, quality, ingenious Indian cuisine! The owner and very nice, warm and welcome... He took our order and everything came out immediately and cooked hot and ready; very delicious! They are large and plentiful, drinking mango and yogurt was delicious! The atmosphere is very covered? In any case, it'll be back! Would you like to taste the buffet that is every Sunday!

We heard that the administration of this place was recently changed and wanted to try out their non vegetarian dishes. We ordered two Mutton biriyani and one Beef ularthu for dinner today. Both Mutton biriyanis were completely burned and were not edible at all. Beef ularthu wasn't good either. It was softened in oil and partially burned. Here are some pictures of what we received. We had to throw everything away and cook something for dinner. Such a terrible experience!!! Please be careful when you order food from this place. That was the worst restaurant I ever had in my life??

I asked about Span Puri and that? I asked about Masala dosa and that's how her dosa looks. I asked about Pav bhaji and they gave me this Bhaji with all the Allo??? Terrible service, she took an hour to give me my food and not delicious and worthy at all. Please don't order food here. Strange. I've thrown the whole order, it's the garbage. It wasn't even worth putting my mouth.

Yesterday was craving for Udipi?s Spring dhosa and we used to love Udipi sambhar, Spring dhosa and idli hence we went there. Didn?t know the ownership has changed. When we arrived we saw lot of people so were impressed. When we were seated?.no one arrived to serve us water and to take the order. 1 lady was running around trying to do everything so seems like they are understaffed. When I called the lady to place the order, she said they didn?t have idli or vada even though it?s Friday night and we reached there around 8. Food arrived after a long time and it didn?t taste like it did before change of management. We ordered spring dhosa and rasam. The quantity was good for both Spring dhosa and rasam and chutney was good as well. But Spring dosa was very soft, half of sambhar was filled with tomatoes that too big size and rasam had lot of oil in it. We were disappointed because of the long wait time?had to wait 30 minutes and then when the food came, we didn?t feel like eating because it didn?t taste like before but we ate because we were hungry. Glad we ordered 1 spring dhosa and not 2. Udipi should improve Spring dhosa recipe ie go back to the recipe they had before. For rasam, the taste was good but they should put less oil. Giving them 2 stars for quantity.

Very good food, however their FB page is not updated on any regular basis making it hard to know if they are open. Just a few simple things keep this place from being really outstanding.
