I would have appreciated honesty and an apology. When I asked about participating in a contest for the event, they showed little interest and simply dismissed me because I did not have a loyalty card. They did not offer me one either, but instead directed me to their website to register online, which was not working. Overall, a very poor level of service.
The White Picket, as it is now called, is an excellent café near my house. The market here is competitive with Gig’s across the street and the Dulwich Bakery nearby as well as the excellent local Thai. The WP has a great coffee and a good menu with vegetarian options. Try it out, it is reliable and occupied by good friendly people.
Family-run Italian café with breakfast, lunch and delicious coffee. Rebadged, it has a covered outdoor dining area next to the footpath behind the same-named Picket fence as well as a table in the background garden and occasionally flows over to the front veranda. Small rooms inside...give the place a cozy feeling. Usually it is packed. White Picket really added the entire vibe of the Dulwich corner shops.
The café was not crowded on Sunday morning, but unfortunately no outdoor tables were free. And like previous visits there were no waterglasses for the self-serving water we checked a few times and the staff assured us that they would bring glasses, but no one came. I discovered a hot glasses near the water outlet over 20 minutes after the demand for them Meanwhile our coffee arrived. I rated my cappuccino 6.5|10, so I didn't have a second. Two of our 3 dishes came 10 minutes later the third dish after another 5 minutes My avocado rye toast, feta, slowly roasted tomatoes, coriander, lime $16] with poached egg $3] was a small rye disc with approx. 1|3 a small avocado and a sceric of feta, with a bunch of coriander, half a lime and a tasteless, watery half tomato. This mere dish would have been more disappointing without the egg on the side The poached egg, avocado, culture tomatoes, smoked salmon, Dukkah, Labne, Rye $20] was a larger dish, attractively presented summary poor coffee, lack of Lustre|overpriced dishes and average service. Buy more water glasses!
Cibos is the third café located on this corner. However, it is not considered too many as it is situated in a charming suburban area with traditional corner shops, a church, parking spaces, and north-facing areas where the cafés can bask in the winter sun. The local community enjoys coming out for coffee and socializing with everyone. Cibo's serves good coffee in a fun and funky atmosphere, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options. It is particularly popular on weekends.
