The tea for two at the wool mill was a great value at £18, especially compared to the £12 cost of a single cheese melt on the high street. The portions were generous, enough to feed four people, and the staff were friendly and approachable. We were even provided with a box to take home the extra cakes. The Christmas tea for two included turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwiches, though there was a bit too much cranberry for my liking. Despite this, I would recommend this place and will definitely be returning. The homemade mince pies and scones were delicious and overall, it was a fantastic meal for the price.
My daughter and I were down in Moffat looking for blouses and skirts for her (not me!! and we had often thought of having a meal in their restaurant. So, we had the fish and chips. The meal was first class, so much so that the next time we are in Moffat we are going to have the steak pie which we have read has good reviews. The staff were very attentive and helpful. And patient because my hearing is not so good; I am 82! We shall return!
My partner and I went to this restaurant for afternoon tea. After paying and receiving our tea and coffee, we waited for over 30 minutes before realizing that our food had not been prepared. When we inquired at the counter, we were asked to choose our sandwich as they had not even started making our order. The scone was served with squirty cream from a pot, rather than the clotted cream we were anticipating. We ended up having to purchase another drink to accompany our meal. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant.
On a Lochs and Glens coach tour the coach stops at Moffat for late lunch stop and on my last vist i had fish and chips for lunch and was very pleased with the food and price i paid Also on the way back home the coaches stop at Moffat and i just had a coffee
We meet friends here regularly, and the restaurant is always busy, but clean and well catered for. We've sampled the fabulous cakes and scones which are on offer, usually with a large delicious coffee and we always meet and speak to other lovely customers whilst we are waiting for our friends to arrive. Next time we visit, we are going to arrive earlier and order the breakfasts, which were recommended by folks sitting on the next table to us previously. Really looking forward to that. Then we shall have coffees and cakes with our friends!
