Hatchet Inn - Dunboyne

Ate here first week before Christmas, then new years eve. Tried booking wk before Christmas but said no need to book. We were there on a Sunday but were told they didn't do the Christmas set menu on Sundays. Anyhow food was really good so we went back new years eve, also a Sunday. When we got there they asked if we'd reserved, as we didn't think we could book we were brought into a little room off main eating restaurant. And we all ate with our coats on it was really cold. 4 of us in total and 3 of us almost finished eating when fourth main came out. Yorkshire pudding was stone cold. Bit disappointed. I'd turkey and ham which was nice. I asked 2 different girls for jug of gravy, took a bit of time to arrive, was well through my meal wen 2 gravy came. Will return but will be a while I'd say.

Had a delicious Christmas works lunch here. There was a choice from regular menu or special 3 course Christmas menu. Lots of different delicious choices. Hard to choose ha ha. This place is a little bit hidden away but definitely worth a visit. It's a hidden gem. There is parking in the yard at the side. Mostly in the flat so would he accessible for people with mobility issues.

This restaurant is fabulous. My family and I have dined here several times on Sundays, even as walk-ins, and I highly recommend the food and the staff. I usually don't finish my dinner plate, but I absolutely did here. The Thai curry was amazing. The place is beautiful so definitely give it a try.

This restaurant is truly exceptional. The service was outstanding and the cocktails were incredible.
