40 min wait Restaurant had about 6 or 7 tables occupied. Watched a couple get their food who arrived about 30 min after us . No thanks
Only been to this place twice and enjoyed the quality of the fresh food. Others I know recommended this place and they have said how much they enjoy the meals. The last time I was there, there was 5 of us. We all ordered different meals and we were all very satisfied.
I ordered an Original Burger and fries for lunch at Original Joe's in Duncan, BC. The top of the bun was ice cold - not even room temperature. The meat patty was somewhat warmer than luke warm, so I sent my lunch back. When I was presented with a new burger, I put the back of my hand on the burger bun and ... can you believe it? It was the same degree of ice-coldedness as the original burger. I called the server back and asked her to put the back of her hand on the bun and she agreed that this should just not be! Off she went to the kitchen to demand what I think is either the best worst excuse ever or the worst best excuse ever. According to the cook, it was the dill pickle. That's right. Apparently the thinly sliced dill pickle was so cold, that it made the bun AND the patty cold. Apparently, this has never happened before. Blame the dill pickle. The dill pickle slice is much like other slices of dill pickles, but it may have been extra-cold because it was rolled into sort an S-shape and stabbed with a toothpick. The surface area of the pickle/bun contact area was roughly the size of a quarter. She wanted to know if I wanted something else? Dessert maybe? I rather think not. Don't eat there. I feel sorry for the pickle.
Had a chance to meet with the Owner of this location. She was awesome. had a couple of issues that were dealt with above and beyond what I expected. I recommend you visit Original Joe's in Duncan before eating anywhere else. Ty Rebecca - Owner
