Shy's Place - Dundas

For our meal, my wife, who has a restricted sodium diet, ordered the Moroccan Salad, which included chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, dates, goat cheese, mango vinaigrette, walnuts, and spiced Moroccan chicken breast. She loved the combination of flavors and textures, along with the light and tasty dressing. I had the Balsamic Steak Fettucine with tender chunks of beef tenderloin, roasted mushroom trio, green peppercorns, garlic, and a subtle balsamic cream sauce - it was delicious. For dessert, we shared a delightful chocolate Crème Brulee. We want to give a special thank you to Kayla Sticklee, the General Manager, who went above and beyond to take care of a sudden leak from the floor above, showing great attention to detail. Thanks to our hostess and all the staff for a wonderful experience at Shy's Place.

We thought it would be a great idea to go back to Shy's Place for Father's Day dinner. There were 6 of us and we sat outside on the patio. The outdoor patio is great lots of space between tables, interesting seating areas, heaters, and blankets for those cooler nights. Indoors looks as nice, but we haven't sat inside previously. Service was good, server was attentive, friendly. Food was mediocre to poor. Menu is not as varied as we would have liked. Some of the pictures on TripAdvisor of the food served was not even on the menu. We paid over $300 for dinner and we don't mind paying that but not when one of our meals was not hot, there really wasn't anything of interest for a child on the menu, pasta was ok not fabulous (supposed to be bacon and gorgonzola in the dish and the pieces were minuscule), and the jambalaya was so so. They're charging Toronto/Oakville prices and the value just isn't there.

Pretty disappointing. we were a party of 4 with 2 85 seniors. a closed seating area, which is not available as not enough staff, although really only a few steps away from the terrace seating. in the patio area. wobbly table, weep, an hour waiting for brunch. the sitting area we asked about was opened 20 minutes after sitting. the employees were friendly but clearly used to complain and not in the situation or uninterested to treat the concerns. we have said that commentary will be passed on to owners. 20 % of drinking money remained because the waiting staff worked hard, but mgt must concentrate on a series of things that the waiting personnel are aware of the improvement of the needs. I have received 6 automatic reservations that are either cancellng or inviting. could not speak directly to anyone if first reservations. eating was tasty, but on the cool side probably due to waiting. not sure we return or recommend.

We had the wonderful experience today at lunch in Shy’s. the memory was unbelievable to think that someone had accumulated so much, baseball, hockey, magazine covers, music room, license, this n, that could hold one for a long time occupied. eating was incredible, the service was stellar, I wish I could remember the names of the young man when he was the top star. when we're back.... we'll be back.

Without a doubt, this restaurant had the best food and service during our special anniversary trip! We were greeted by one of the owners, and the atmosphere was simply stunning. I would highly recommend this place!
