Mario's Blue Grotto - Dundee City

I ordered a fish supper and my food tasted like rubber I chucked it in the bin straight away it was horrible

I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. I started with a lamb appetizer and then enjoyed a half tandoori chicken with sauce and chips. It was absolutely amazing, I would give it a 10 out of 10, the best meal I've had.

I've been here a couple of times, it's clean, the food is good and the staff is friendly and cheerful. I like the fact that when I ask for a single red pudding they also throw a couple of chips and the chips are excellent. .

We bought fish dinners, white pudding dinners and soft peas the other night and we waited over time for the food that was terrible. The fish dough was soft and hard, the fries were greasy and few!The soft peas for our astonishment were bitter, yes bitter! Probably a day or two too old. It could not be bothered to call the store, as we live a little far and, however, we get discouraged. Oh, and the white pudding had the same chewable mass and it was cold. Almost all the food was in the bin! It will definitely not come back as there are many, much better chippies around.

Nice to remember in recent years of regular visits to Mario's on Brantwood Avenue; top-class products especially fish and chips and never let me down. I tried Lawers Drive drive when it was opened and I wasn't impressed. He gave a second more recently and no improvement. Taste flour in fish paste, not crispy and a bit past. The woman had tasteless fish pies. I can't criticize the staff, who was efficient and friendly.
