The bartender and his companion were at the far end of the bar at that time. They saw me getting ready to leave and by the time I got my jacket on, they both scurried down to my end of the bar and ganged up on me. They aggressively started to mock me in front of a room full of patrons for only having one pint. I have never been treated this way in a UK pub before by the management. It was shocking and disgusting. They were very aggressive towards me. I will never go back.
Home cooked good food , recommend to us by locals . I had chicken Kiev was lovely homemade chips were really tasty . Partner had scampi, will return to try the well talked about chilli .
Went in for a few drinks with mates, ordered two pints and my pal ordered a water. As soon as the water was ordered we got told to leave, no explanation why. Just got told “we don’t want to serve you”. Left with no fuss, but no idea why.
I stopped by for a quick burger and pint before heading to the theater. This charming historic pub has cozy little nooks and crannies that I really enjoyed. The food was satisfying, and they had a nice selection of beers on tap.
A fantastic very busy pub, with some great period features! Has a surprisingly large capacity despite appearances from outside
